Sent to share

The message encourages believers to pray, share their personal stories, welcome questions, trust the Holy Spirit and faithfully invite others to encounter Jesus.

A faithful witness

God calls His people to be attentive to opportunities to share what He has done. Like the man healed by Jesus in John 9, believers can faithfully tell their story even when they do not have every answer.

Sharing the message

  1. First and foremost, pray.
    • Prayer keeps us dependent on God rather than relying on our own ability to explain or persuade.
    • Colossians 4:2-6 emphasizes continual prayer and asks for opportunities to make the message known clearly.
  2. You have a unique story to share.
    • God has worked personally in each believer’s life, giving them a story that no one else can tell.
    • The man healed in John 9 simply testified to what Jesus had done for him.
  3. Don’t be afraid of questions.
    • Questions create opportunities to listen, understand where someone is coming from and respond with grace.
    • We do not need to have every answer before we can faithfully point someone toward Jesus.
  4. Trust the Holy Spirit and step out in faith.
    • Sharing our faith requires trusting God with the outcome rather than trying to control the response.
    • Faithfulness means being willing to step into opportunities God provides.

Methods

  • Ask.
  • Listen.

Insight
