A life that matters

Challenges us to move beyond self-centered living by intentionally choosing a life of purpose, sacrifice and devotion to God’s greater calling.

What life are you living?

Paul confronts believers with a defining question. Life is always moving in a direction, whether intentionally or by default. Following Jesus requires choosing a path shaped by surrender rather than self-protection.

  1. You can live fighting for your rights, or you can live for the Lord.
    • Rights-focused living centers on self and personal entitlement.
    • Living for the Lord redirects priorities toward obedience and trust.
  2. Selfish living is small living; God is inviting you to a much greater adventure.
    • Self-centered goals limit the scope of life’s impact.
    • God calls believers into something larger than comfort or convenience.
  3. You will never accidentally live a good life; you must choose to live for what matters most.
    • A meaningful life requires intentional decisions.
    • Spiritual purpose is formed through deliberate surrender.

What directs your life?

  1. Decisions.
    • Each choice reinforces values and priorities.
  2. Friends.
    • Relationships shape perspective, character and direction.
  3. Habits.
    • Repeated actions quietly form identity over time.

Anything done with human hands will only yield human results.

Insight

  • Surrendering rights creates space for greater purpose.
  • Human effort alone cannot produce eternal results.
  • A meaningful life requires intentional choices, not passive drifting.
  • Daily decisions shape long-term direction.
